On Thursday the 28th July 2018, I finally managed to make a long overdue visit to Stockholm. I have friend who lives there and wanted to go for years, but never made it, but this year it was her 50th birthday and I had the opportunity to visit and spend time with her family and children, which was a pleasure.
I flew in to Skavska, which was a cheap flight, but a long way out from Stockholm, although they did pick me up, the drive to Stockholm was amazing, the scenery is beautiful. I got to see quite a lot, but the day of her birthday was wonderful.
We went on a cruise along the Stockholm Archipelago, leaving around 5PM, but with the daylight in Stockholm lingering around till nearly midnight, there was something to see along the whole trip.
I could spend all my time taking photos and videos, so what I caught was literally taken ‘on the fly’ but I think these images give a good indication of the beauty that there is everywhere.
Stockholm is such a beautiful city, it doesn’t feel like a capital, it is clean, immaculate, everything is in keeping and there are lots of open spaces. It is a very expensive place, but somewhere that is definitely worth a visit, I loved it.
